Minority Rights Case Law Database in the Institute's Digital Reading Room

14 August 2026

A minority rights case law database compiled by Zsolt Körtvélyesi is now also available in our Institute’s Digital Reading Room. The database features selected minority rights cases from Slovakia and Hungary concerning the Hungarian and Roma minorities. It processes judgments from official court databases, providing summaries, English translations, and related cases. The database was developed as part of the research project 'MINOTEE: Minority Rights – Towards Effective European Enforcement' supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Programme.

The electoral database on minority participation in Hungary’s parliamentary elections has been updated with data from 2026

10 August 2026

The electoral database elaborated within the project titled “Parliamentary Representation of Minorities in International Comparison: Descriptive or Substantive Representation?” (NKFIH K143523, 2022–2027) contains data on the number of voters registered as members of national minorities in Hungarian parliamentary elections, as well as the number of voters who cast valid ballots for the lists of national minority self-governments, broken down by national minority, county, and municipality for the period 2014–2026 (available HERE). Due to changes in certain electoral district boundaries over time, the same database is also available separately by electoral district for the 2014–2022 period (HERE) and for the recent 2026 elections (HERE).
