Together with Rajk College for Advanced Studies we are organising a discussion on November 13 in connection with the closing conference of our research project, Moralities of dependent relations in the age of financialization: Rethinking dependence and livelihood among the marginalised in Hungary (NKFIH K-143543). The conversation with Theodoros Rakopoulos will be moderated by our colleague Gergely Pulay.

On 6–7 November 2026, Csilla Fedinec will participate in the international forum Re:Open Zakarpattia 2026 – “Hearing One Another”, organized by the Institute for Central European Strategy in Uzhhorod. Now in its seventh edition, the forum provides an opportunity to discuss the future of Transcarpathia, Ukraine’s European integration, regional cooperation, and issues concerning national communities. Our colleague will be a panelist in the discussion entitled “The Rights of National Communities in 2026: Dialogue Instead of Instrumentalization”, which will focus on the rights of national communities, opportunities for dialogue, and the challenges posed by the political instrumentalization of minority issues.

Our colleague Ferenc Eiler’s study, “Die Ansiedlung in den identitätspolitischen Bestrebungen der ungarndeutschen Organisationen in der Zwischenkriegszeit,” has been published in the volume Mit der Vergangenheit in die Zukunft: Verortung der frühneuzeitlichen Siedlungsmigration bei den Ungarndeutschen, edited by Márta Fata (Stuttgart: Franz Steiner Verlag, 2026), pp. 35–52.

Attila Z. Papp delivered a presentation titled THE HUNGARIAN DIASPORA. A brief historical overview: facts, trends, institutions as an invited speaker at the special session of the Hungarian Parliament’s Committee on Hungarian Diaspora and Minority Policy on October 20, 2026. This session was convened on the occasion of the upcoming 70th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution and Freedom Fight.
