On 26 June 2026 at 5:00 p.m., as part of Dombos Fest in Mali Iđoš (Kishegyes), researchers from our institute — Judit Durst, Nóra Kovács, and Csilla Zsigmond — together with Zoltán Ádám from the Institute for Political Science, will join György Szerbhorváth for a discussion on how the Hungarians of Vojvodina are perceived from external perspectives and how these views may be reconsidered from within, in the local context itself. June 20, 2026, our colleague Nándor Bárdi participated in a roundtable discussion organized by the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs titled The Hungarian National Policy (Kin-state Policy): Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. The slides of his presentation can be found here.

From June 23–26, 2026, several research committees of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) will hold a joint colloquium with the EURAC Research Center in Bolzano, in which Balázs Dobos and Balázs Vizi will also participate. The full conference program is available at HERE.

Csilla Fedinec analyzed the results of the Armenian parliamentary elections and their geopolitical context in Jelen.

Between 16 and 18 June 2026, the Council for European Studies will hold its 32nd International Conference at University College Dublin. Csilla Zsigmond and Margit Feischmidt will participate in the event with their presentation entitled “Hope, Solidarity – Activism? Some Characteristics of the Public Engagement of the Tisza Islands from the Perspective of Transformative Solidarity.”

On May 21, 2026, the Institute for Minority Studies at the ELTE Research Center for Social Sciences, in collaboration with the Forum Institute in Somorja and the National Institute for Minority Studies in Cluj-Napoca, presented “Károly Tóth: The Ghost of Autonomy. Studies, Essays, Articles, Conversations 1982–2013” at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences’ Research Center for the Humanities in Budapest. The recording of the book launch can be found here.

Our colleague, Béni L. Balogh, gave a lecture on the Day of National Cohesion on June 4, 2026, as part of the Public Affairs Café (Közéleti Kávéház) event series in Timișoara. The title of his lecture was: "Transylvania in Hungarian Public Consciousness Before and After Trianon." Following the lecture, Bartha Csaba conducted an interview with the speaker.
